Activity highlighted by leases for Fortunoff’s, Harmon, Perkins & Wawa
OLD BRIDGE, N.J. (11/04/05)—R.J. Brunelli & Co., Inc. today reported that it brokered $12.2 million in retail real estate transactions in New Jersey during the third quarter of 2005. Included among the 10 leases executed during the three months ended September 30 were deals with Fortunoff’s Backyard Store, Harmon Discount, Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, and Wawa.

With the third quarter transactions, the Old Bridge, N.J. -based retail real estate firm completed a total of 26 leases and two property sales in aggregating $52.2 million through the first nine months of 2005. The transactions were for properties located in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Harmon Discount, for whom the firm serves as preferred broker in five New Jersey counties, signed for 5,900 square feet at Woodbridge Shoppin
Center on Route 1 in Woodbridge, N.J. The lease with the cosmetics and H&BA retailer was brokered by Brunelli sales associate Ron DeLuca.

Wawa signed a 5,000-square-foot ground lease to build a convenience store and gas station on Route 66 in Neptune in a deal brokered by sales associate John Lenaz. Mr. Lenaz also completed two transactions for Ed Vista Learning Center for 2,400 square feet at Larchmont Commons on Route 36 in Mt. Laurel, N.J. and for 1,300 square feet at Stokes Corner Shopping Center on Stokes Road in Medford, N.J. The firm serves as exclusive broker for Ed Vista throughout New Jersey. Additionally, Mr. Lenaz brokered a lease with Hand & Stone for a 2,750-square-foot space at Warren Plaza on Warren Avenue in Warren, N.J.

Elsewhere, sales associate Martin Yaged signed Children of America for a new, 7,400-square-foot building to be constructed on Route 34 and Woodcliff Blvd. in Aberdeen, N.J.

Leases were also signed for two centers under construction for which the firm serves as exclusive landlord representative. Brunelli executive vice president Nick Romagnoli signed Tai Pham Nail Salon for 1,500 square feet at Maple Tree Plaza on Route 520 in Marlboro, N.J., while sales representative Danielle Brunelli signed Merle Norman Cosmetics for 500 square feet at Plainsboro Village on Scudders Mill Road in Plainsboro, N.J.
R.J. Brunelli & Co. currently serves as exclusive leasing representative for 15 existing centers and four under construction with a combined gross leasable area (GLA) of over 2.2 million square feet, along with 12 projects in the approvals stage with more than 1.0 million square feet of GLA. The properties are located throughout northern, central and southern New Jersey. The firm also serves as exclusive tenant representative in various New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania counties for 20 retail, restaurant and service chains, representing such major companies as Baja Fresh, L.L. Bean, Zale’s Corp., Houlihan’s and Tuesday Morning.
